Submission guidelines for “The Southern Journal of Linguistics”

The “Southern Journal of Linguistics ”, the official referred journal accepts manuscripts in all areas of linguistics. Articles should be submitted as e-mail attachments, with one hardcopy for comparison if special fonts are used.

 Please note the following editorial requirements:

  • Articles must be clear and reader friendly, with critical terminology defined. Since the journal will not specialize in any one subdiscipline in linguistics, all articles must be generally accessible.
  • All articles must have an abstract, and
  • they must conform to the LSA style sheet. Please see the inside covers of the journal for more specific stipulations.

Graphics files can be embedded in Word or submitted separately (or call to make specific arrangements). Some limited color graphics can be accommodated if essential. 

The journal will periodically feature a thematic section. If you would like to be guest editor for such as special section, please contact the editor

The Southern Journal of Linguistics is indexed in MLA International Bibliography, abstracted in Language and Language Behavior Abstracts, and included in The Directory of Periodicals. The yearly subscription rate is $30 for institutions, $20 for individuals (joint membership in SECOL is $30, which includes one copy of the journal). The SouthEastern Conference on Linguistics, Inc., is a non-profit, tax-exempt academic organization incorporated in the State of Florida.
